Lexus’ pursuit of hybridizing every model it can spreads to the mid-sized GS line. The GS 450h combines the 3.5-litre V6 with a powerful electric motor to deliver a combined 340 hp. The car uses a CVT with paddle shifters to try and inject some added zest to the affair. A combined 34 mph is four better than the base V6. The 450h comes only one way: loaded. That means all the tasty options like Mark Levinson audio, heated and cooled seats, a voice-activated navigation system, and more, are all standard.

Pros

Feel less guilty about performance

Cons

Fuel economy not that much better
