The mid-sized GS gets the honour of taking Lexus’ fight to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Power comes from a 303-hp 3.5-litre V6 with a six-speed automatic or a 342-hp 4.6-litre V8 with an eight-speed auto. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive can be selected on the GS 350. The cabin is cramped for tall drivers, but is well appointed and equipped. Heated and cooled seats, adaptive headlights and more come in Premium Package.

Pros

Powerful, stylish

Cons

Too tight for tall drivers
