The Lexus IS finally joins its class rivals by offering a convertible model for 2010. The rear-wheel drive C comes with either a 204-hp 3.5-litre V6 or a 306-hp 3.5-litre V6. While a six-speed manual is standard on the base car, six-speed automatics dominate the rest of the range. The folding-metal top takes about 20 seconds to stow, leaving little room for luggage. As you would expect of a Lexus, performance is aimed more to comfort, and the occupants are well-sheltered from the elements.

Pros

Lexus’ best convertible

Cons

Not very exciting
