The new-for-2010 Kia Forte replaces the old Spectra as the company’s compact sedan, and the two couldn’t be more different. The Forte has bold styling, great handling and is aiming straight for the top. Power comes from either a 156-hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder or a 173-hp 2.4-litre version. The mid-priced versions ride the best, while the sporty SX package doesn’t impress as much. Interior design is clean, and the Forte is the best-equipped small sedan for the money.
