The GMC Yukon is the brand’s traditional big SUV that’s designed to haul five or seven people, depending on configuration. Normal models are powered by a 320-hp 5.3-litre V8, while the upscale Denali uses a 403-hp 6.2-litre version. Both rear- and four-wheel drive are available, while the Denali uses a full-time all-wheel drive system. Interior is mainly shared with Chevrolet and Cadillac versions. Upscale Denali uses different leather, and adds extra chrome touches. The Hybrid’s fuel efficiency is much better than the traditional model, but is $20,000 more to start.

Pros

Upscale SUV with room for seven

Cons

Why not buy a Tahoe?
