The Patriot is Jeep’s other take on the entry-level SUV, albeit a much more traditional one. Using the same platform and mechanicals as the Compass – 158-hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder with either a five-speed manual or CVT; four-wheel drive Patriots use a 172-hp 2.4-litre version, with optional low-range – allows the little Jeep to ford streams and climb mountains. The interior got a big boost last year with better materials and equipment.
