The everything-of-the-year-winning Genesis sedan stole all the laurels during 2009, and enters 2010 with tons of momentum. The entry-level 290-hp 3.8-litre V6 and optional 390-hp 4.8-litre Tau V8 are class-leading powerplants, and the car’s road-manners are stellar as well. Interior could be out of a Mercedes-Benz, and rear seats offer huge legroom and luxury. Genesis also features Hyundai’s first navigation system, and it works very well, but iDrive-style controller needs a few software tweaks.

Pros

An S-Class at half the price

Cons

Noisier than it should be
