The current Sonata is in its final year before Hyundai releases its completely redesigned model later this year. However, the current version is still competitive in the segment thanks to great space, good value and fuel-efficient engines. The entry-level cars use a 175-hp 2.4-litre four-cylinder, while a 249-hp 3.3-litre V6 is optional. Transmissions are five-speeds across the board, both manual and automatic. Cabin is one of the segment’s largest and the seats are both comfortable and supportive.
