The Honda Accord remains the target in the mid-sized sedan market thanks to its efficient engines, reliability, and nimble reflexes. Power comes from a mix of four-cylinder and V6 engines: the base 2.4-litre produces 174-hp, while the mid-level cars get 190-hp versions of the same engine. The 3.5-litre V6 produces 271 horsepower, turning the Accord into a near Acura TL... Unfortunately, only the base engine is available with a five-speed manual transmission; all others get a five-speed automatic. The cabin is airy and spacious, although the HVAC and radio controls can confuse easily.

Pros

Reliability squared

Cons

Grey buttons too easily confused
