Think of the three-door Accent Hatchback as a replacement for the old Honda Civic hatch, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. While the Hyundai doesn’t have the reflexes of the Civic, it does boast a 110-hp 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The cabin is surprisingly large, and fits tall people without trouble. The cargo area is generous too. Basic models do without ABS and power windows.
