There’s nothing held over from the old SRX and the new 2010 version. Cadillac’s small SUV now shares the bones of the excellent Chevrolet Equinox. Engines are a 265-hp 3.0-litre direct-injection V6, while a 300-hp turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 is an available option. A six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive come standard too. Interior design is a significant step up from the previous model. From a double-sized glass moonroof to leather seats, to an excellent Bose audio system, the SRX is set to tackle the increasing number of compact luxury SUVs from BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Land Rover.

Pros

Excellent fuel efficiency

Cons

Standard engine slightly underpowered
