The Eclipse received a facelift in 2009, so Mitsubishi’s sports coupe goes forward into 2010 with no other changes. Power comes from a 162-hp 2.4-litre four-cylinder and five-speed manual transmission in the GS, and a 265-hp 3.8-litre V6 and six-speed manual transmission in the GT-P. Five-speed automatics are optional in both. The Eclipse’s shape promises plenty, but acceleration is tepid in the GS. The full-blown GT-P has quick acceleration, but torque steer and a desire to follow pavement ruts mean it’s a handful. Interior is dramatic, but is cramped for tall drivers.
