Hyundai’s compact SUV has been around for long enough that it’s become forgettable in the face of newer, larger and more efficient rivals. Until it’s replaced, the Tuscon still offers good value from its 140-hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder, but the 173-hp 2.7-litre V6 is pretty outclassed at this point. The front-wheel drive base model gets a five-speed manual transmission, but all-wheel drive requires the four-speed automatic. Interior is average in size, but materials used are getting chintzy.
