Honda’s entry-level Fit carries into 2010 with few changes after a successful redesign last year. The whole line is powered by a 117-hp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with either a five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic. All Fits have great responses, but Sport is the true enthusiasts’ machine. Interior is logically laid out, and the rear Magic Seat flips, folds and bends in numerous directions to best maximize cargo space. Fuel mileage is excellent too.

Pros

Best entry-level car available

Cons

Five-speeds one gear too short for highway work
