The Acura TSX is essentially a European market Honda Accord, and has been loved since its introduction for its nimble chassis, four-cylinder engine and compact size. However, Acura decided that the standard 201-hp 2.4-litre i-VTEC engine suffers compared to its rivals and has introduced a V6 engine for the first time in this model. The 280-hp 3.5-litre V6 is similar to those in the TL, RL and MDX, but in the lighter TSX delivers a real performance hit. Unfortunately, it’s tied to a standard five-speed automatic, meaning Acura’s excellent six-speed manual is relegated to the base models. The V6 package also includes larger 18-inch wheels and tires.  Inside, the TSX offers all the luxury and technology owners would expect.

Pros

V6 package delivers a big performance boost

Cons

V6 pricing means you’re well into Infiniti G37 territory
