The reborn Chevrolet Camaro debuts for 2010 with a truckload of interest. Most models are powered by a 304-hp 3.6-litre V6 with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The full-blown SS gets a 426-hp 6.2-litre V8 shared with the Corvette. Far from the live-axle models of old, the new Camaro uses a modern platform with independent suspension all around, and big brakes that stop it without issue. The interior is a modern take on a dual-cowl classic, although headroom is tight for tall drivers.

Pros

Styling, V8 power

Cons

Cramped, unrefined
