The biggest news for the retro Dodge Challenger is the arrival of a new hue for 2010: Plum Crazy gets reincarnated on RT and SRT8 models. Otherwise, the Challenger offers a number of power options from the 250-hp 3.5-litre V6 to the 368-hp 5.7-litre HEMI V8 in the RT Classic. Finally, the SRT8’s 425-hp HEMI V8 stands at the top of the performance pile. Transmissions are either four- or five-speed automatics, but a six-speed manual is optional on the RT. The interior is tasteful, if a little stark, and the seats in uplevel models are supportive and comfortable.

Pros

Not only fast in a straight line

Cons

Too heavy to be a real pony car
