Here’s the equation: old Jetta Wagon plus new lights, grille, bumpers and badges equals new Golf Wagon. The new Volkswagen ‘face’ is very distinctive, though. The wagon is available with a 170-hp 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine and the option of VW’s excellent 140-hp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, with a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG transmission. The biggest change to the interior is the addition of a steering wheel taken from the Passat CC, but the cargo area is spacious and easy to access.
