The 2010 Subaru Outback is a complete redesign and answers many of the previous model’s complaints. The new model is longer, wider and has a bigger wheelbase to increase cabin space, especially in the rear seats. Most styling cues are shared with the new Legacy sedan, but the Outback sits higher, and has the benefit of a wagon body. Inside, the materials and overall design are very competitive. Power comes from a 170-hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer, or a 256-hp 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer. The popular PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) version is still available, as is a new optional CVT transmission on entry-level versions.
