The Cabriolet version of BMW’s junior 1 Series offers a soft-top that folds away in 22 seconds, presenting a less focused vehicle. Both 230-hp 128i and 300-hp 135i offer performance that is near tops in the class thanks to a sharp rear-wheel drive chassis and excellent dynamics. Interior is basic BMW, meaning functional, if a little sombre.

Pros

Top-down fun for two

Cons

Looks a tad challenging
