Athletic performance, now with better fuel economy

The athletic five-seat Mazda CX-7 crossover gets a mid-cycle update for 2010. The biggest change comes underhood as there’s a new 161-hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder in the base model, while the original 244-hp turbocharged 2.3-litre remains unchanged in up-level models. Power routes to either the front or all four wheels using a standard five-speed automatic transmission. Exterior changes are limited to a new smiley face to better mimic Mazda’s current styling. Inside, there’s now room for an optional touch-screen navigation system.
