So far, the SLK55 AMG is the only Mercedes-Benz car that still uses the older 355-hp 5.5-litre V8 instead of the newer 6.2-litre version. However, given the SLK’s relative feather weight, 355 horsepower is more than enough to unleash its inner hoon. The V8 sounds like a Corvette, too, with plenty of aggressive noises released when the throttle is matted. The power-folding hardtop means you can extend the driving season. Interior gets better seats, AMG logos and all the toys possible.

Pros

V8 engine

Cons

Not quite on par with rivals
