The Cooper Clubman was designed to answer complaints about the regular Cooper’s ability to handle taller passengers and extra cargo. The result is a somewhat strange looking five-door hatchback that shares all of the other mechanical bits with the rest of the Mini range. Power for the Cooper Classic and Cooper come from a 118-hp 1.6-litre four-cylinder, while the Cooper S uses a turbocharged 172-hp version. The Cooper JCW gets a 210-hp version of that same engine, along with bigger wheels, stiffer suspension and other performance-enhancing tweaks.

Pros

Hugely entertaining – for four

Cons

Very pricey
