Hugely entertaining – in good weather

The 2010 Cooper Convertible was the final second-generation new Mini version to launch and it’s not much changed from before. Coopers come with a 118-hp 1.6-litre four-cylinder while the Cooper S uses a turbocharged 172-hp version. The Cooper JCW gets a 210-hp version of that same engine, along with bigger wheels, stiffer suspension and other performance-enhancing tweaks. The top powers down quickly, leaving the chromed roll hoops exposed behind the rear seats. The usual Mini hatch makes way for a smaller traditional trunk.
